About — Cheshire Strategy

I help businesses understand what's
driving growth.

I’ve spent the last 15 years working across software, product, and marketing - building, testing, and analyzing how businesses grow. I help small businesses get clear on what’s working, what’s not, and what to do next.

#1 Goal: your clarity

A strategist who's been
on both sides of the table.

I didn’t start my career in marketing. I started in software and product. My job was to figure out how things worked, how people used them, and to design usability improvements to make them better.

When I founded my agency in 2020 and began working directly with business owners, they were often doing a lot of chaotic trial-and-error marketing activities without methods to measure what was driving meaningful results.

Because most businesses were making decisions without a full picture of their data, their positioning, or their market, they would often feel burnt-out, frustrated, and distrustful of the potential of digital marketing.

That’s the gap I focus on now.

Early career

Product & systems

Worked in software, QA, and product design. I focused on how systems function, where they break, the ways people interact with them, and how to improve them.

Transition

In the trenches with small businesses

Founded a digital marketing agency, personally executing everything from websites to ads. Learned how often marketing decisions get shaped by pressure, not clarity.

Today

Cheshire Strategy

Helping businesses understand through their data what’s driving growth so they can make better decisions, not just "do more marketing".

Three things
I believe
deeply.

1

Strategy before tactics.

The reason most marketing underperforms isn’t bad execution, it’s unclear direction. A clear strategy is the only thing that makes any tactic worth doing. I won't recommend channels, campaigns, or budgets until the destination is clear.

2

Independence is the whole point.

I don’t run your campaigns or manage your ads. My role is to help you understand what you should be doing before anything gets executed. Every recommendation I make is what I would do if I were you.

3

Clarity is a deliverable.

The goal is a clear direction guided by confidence, backed by evidence, and expressed in plain language. If you leave our engagement unsure of what to do next, I haven't done my job.

Alice at the crossroads
The Cheshire Cat Knows The Way
"Which way should I go?" Alice asked. The Cat said it depended on where she wanted to get to. She said she didn't much care. "Then it doesn't matter which way you go."

That's the story behind the name. Most businesses are wandering Wonderland because no one's helped them decide where they actually want to end up. That's the work we do together.
